(April 9th, 2026) Webinar: Driving NAMs-Aligned Preclinical Research with the Newton 7.0 Optical Imaging Systems

 Overview:

While new approach methodologies (NAMs) are designed to replace animal testing, optical imaging systems like the Newton 7.0 are powerful tools for reducing animal usage and refining preclinical studies.

This webinar demonstrated how the Newton 7.0 supports the 3Rs by enabling non-invasive, longitudinal monitoring of disease progression, biodistribution of therapies, and treatment responses in the same animal over time. We discussed specific applications, such as the use of genetically engineered animal models and fluorescent reporters, which provide more reliable and reproducible data while simultaneously minimizing the number of animals required per study.

By leveraging the capabilities of the Newton 7.0, researchers can acquire stronger, more predictive data. We also explored the synergies between optical imaging and other innovative techniques to create a comprehensive, NAMs-aligned research workflow. Ultimately, this industry workshop highlighted how the strategic use of advanced imaging tools can accelerate the development of more accurate, human-relevant therapies.

We concluded the session with a walk-through of the Newton 7.0 system’s new acquisition software, which showcases a modern interface design, intuitive workflows, and powerful imaging capabilities built for all researchers.

About the Speaker

Dr. Jade Marrow holds a PhD from the University of Guelph in Human Health & Nutritional Sciences and previously obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Human Kinetics. Using a variety of imaging modalities, hemodynamic measurement tools, and molecular techniques, her research centered around cardiovascular health and improving our understanding of how the structure and function of the heart respond to stress. Dr. Marrow has over 6 years of experience investigating the non-canonical roles of erythropoietin in the heart and developing novel biologics for the treatment of myocardial infarction. In her present role as a Product Manager at Scintica Instrumentation, she works closely with Scintica’s x-ray and optical imaging portfolios and specializes in aligning innovative solutions with customer needs.
